Parent Helpers:
Parent Helpers assist the Scout Leaders in preparing and running the activities. They must have a background check and are registered as adult members of Scouts ACT. Being a Parent Helper is a fun and flexible way to get involved.
Scout Group Support Committee:
The Scout Group Support Committee does all the “behind the scenes” work. They are responsible for providing the resources so the Leaders can deliver the Scout program. Below is a brief description of some of the roles available. For more information on roles and how you can do to get involved please contact your local Scout Group Leader.
Group Chair
Supports the Group Leader in running the Group and helps to manage the Group Support Committee.
Group Secretary
Manages all correspondence pertaining to the Group, prepares agendas for upcoming meeting, takes the minutes for meeting and maintains records.
Group Treasurer
Manages the finances and accounts for the Group. Scouts Groups in the ACT use an online system called Xero that helps manage this process in an easy and convenient way.
Hall Hire
Manages the hall hire bookings
Communication Officer
Manages the communication channels for the Scout Group i.e. newsletters, emails, website etc…
Fundraising Officer
Manages all the fundraising activities for the Group and manages the fundraising roster.
Maintenance Officer
Manages the maintenance of the Scout Hall and helps the Committee prepare for any future replacements.
